We've had an interesting few days....

The concert was incredibly under-whelming. It took us nearly 3 hours to get from our door to our "parking spot" at the Verizon Pavilion. Upon which we discovered that our car was sinking in the mud, the pavilion was oversold, and completely packed full of underage drunk weirdos. And, Gary Levox (lead singer) was coming down with laryngitis. They didn't sound so hot. The key had been so lowered on several songs to accomodate his sore throat, that it took me hearing the words to know what it was. We left the concert about 45 minutes before it was over to handle our sinking car. Luckily, there were no huge problems with that. I love Rascal Flatts, really I do. I still do after a less than stellar night. But, that's the last concert I'll attend at the Verizon Center in Noblesville.

Sunday was an easy breezy day. We both took about an hour to call our dads. The older I get the more I love having one on one quiet conversations with my dad. My dad and I have always been close, and I remember sitting in the car after coming home from a late rehearsal, or something at church, turning off the engine and talking so long that my mom would have to come outside to see if we were still there. He gets me and I love him for it. Eric and I had dinner at a tiny hole in the wall Mexican place. I ended up asking for a box, which I immediately forgot at the table. As we were walking to the car, our 8.5 months pregnant waitress comes running after us yelling "Miss, Miss". We had to laugh because this is probably the 300th time I've left my leftovers.

Monday was a whirlwind. I had to have a letter ready for the re-naming of the Martin Luther King Post Office for the late State Representative Julia Carson. Not only did I have to write a letter that I didn't feel like I should be writing, but it was due at 9 am! I had it printed, deemed "marvelous" by the LG and signed by 8:55, so that was a load off.

Tuesday was quite an experience. I met my boss at the Greenwood Airport to take a plane to Seymour. Afterward we hopped back on the plane to head to Evansville for a groundbreaking for a new interchange. We were back home by 5. I don't deal well with motion sickness. I'm usually okay as long as I have a pretty good view of what's around me. Unfortunately, I was in the middle of the plane facing the rear (moving backwards) and it was a very windy day. On our way home, we were about 3 minutes from touching down when I reached for the special baggie. My boss looked at me with concern and said "Are you okay?" With some deep breathing, happy thoughts, and a little adjustment in my seat, I managed to secure the contents of my stomach seconds before the plane hit the runway. Needless to say, I didn't recover from that feeling quickly because I couldn't even think about food the rest of the night.

I've been counting my blessings this week and taking note of all of those people in my life that I'm so grateful for. This life is so delicate and so full of so many special people and moments. I've found myself thinking of Mauri constantly this week and begging God to ease her suffering, but I've also pleaded for more time. This is something that I will NEVER understand.

Enjoy the rest of this week!
